mbrd runs entirely in your browser. There is no account and no server that holds your work: images, video, audio, notes and everything else you add stay on your own computer, in your browser's storage, and exporting a board writes a .mbrd file wherever you choose to put it. We collect nothing at all - no analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies, no fingerprinting, no error reporting - and the app works with the internet switched off, so opening a board tells nobody. The other half of that promise is that clearing your browser's data for this site deletes your boards and we have no backup to restore them from, so export anything you would be sorry to lose.

Four things reach the network, and all four you have to ask for. Pressing play on a YouTube or Spotify card loads that card from YouTube or Spotify, who then see the request the way they would if you opened it in a tab; the YouTube embed uses their no-cookie host. Generating a preview image for a video your browser cannot read downloads a converter from a public code mirror, jsDelivr - the converter comes to the video, never the other way round. And loading this page at all fetches it from our host, Cloudflare, which serves the site as static files and sees the traffic that reaches it the way every web server does; we have added no logging of our own on top.

The fourth is the only one that sends your board anywhere, and it is worth spelling out. Share link signs you in to your own Google Drive and uploads the board there, as a file in your account, and then gives you a link that points at it. It never passes through anything of ours - we run no server and have nowhere to put it - so what leaves your computer goes from you to Google and nowhere else, under whatever terms you already have with them. Two things follow from that. The link works for anyone who has it and needs no account, which is the point of it, so it is as private as the people you send it to. And the file stays in your Drive until you delete it there; nothing in mbrd can reach into your account to take it back, because the permission we ask for reaches only files this app itself created. If you never press that button, nothing about your boards ever leaves your machine.

There is no account to create and nothing is gathered, so a child's data is treated no differently from anybody else's - neither is collected. If any of this ever stops being true, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it, and mbrd is open source, so you do not have to take our word for any of it.
